The pig's dewclaw governs the five kinds of pile. The horn of the dewclaw, any quantity, burnt and powdered; take 2 don down in rice water. It is called Jeogap-san. — Dansim 丹心 (Donguibogam · Hueum)
Clinical commentary 臨床
五痔, the five piles, is the Posterior Yin chapter's taxonomy — vessel, intestinal, qi, blood and wine piles — and the formula is offered for all of them at once, which is the mark of a drug chosen for what it is rather than for what it treats. Charred keratin is carbon and little else. Piles are managed by keeping the stool soft, and bleeding from the anus at any age needs looking at rather than treating blind. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
