Translation

Treats leg qi entering the abdomen, with panting oppression at the point of death. Chaenomeles and areca nut, 2 don 5 fun each; evodia 1 don 5 fun. Cut the above, make one packet, decoct in water and take. — Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Jok)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Three ingredients and nothing wasted — the two that lead the Qi down out of the chest, and evodia to warm what the cold has seized. Chaenomeles is the chapter's standing herb for cramping legs and appears in nearly every emergency formula here; paired with areca at equal weight, it is the simplest expression of the whole strategy. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
