Translation

Treats cough from contracting wind cold, with a blocked nose, a heavy thick voice and loss of voice. Ephedra with the root and nodes left on, apricot kernel with the skin and tip left on, and licorice neither roasted nor peeled, 1 don 5 fun each. Cut up, make one packet, add five slices of ginger, and decoct in water. — Gukbang 局方 (Donguibogam · Haesu)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Mahwang-tang minus Gyeji, with the three remaining herbs left unrefined — "unbinding" refers to the rough preparation, keeping their dispersing edge. The minimal statement of opening a Lung shut by cold. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
