Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
孕婦爲夫所困, 胎動, 氣欲絶, 竹瀝飮一升, 立愈. 《本草》
Translation
Where a pregnant woman is worn out by her husband, the foetus stirs and the qi is about to be cut off; 1 seung of bamboo sap drunk, and she recovers at once. — Boncho 本草 (Donguibogam · Buin)
Clinical commentary 臨床
爲夫所困 — worn out by her husband — names the cause plainly, and the chapter's prohibitions at 1.14 forbid intercourse in pregnancy for this reason.
That the Bogam records the circumstance rather than describing only the collapse is worth noting. It appears again at 1.16.8, where abstinence is one of three things required to avoid miscarriage.
