Treats dry retching with frothy drool brought up. Pinellia and dried ginger, equal parts. Grind coarsely and take 3 don each time, decocted in water and given slowly. — Junggyeong 仲景 (Donguibogam · Guto)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Two drugs in equal parts, the shortest formula in the chapter. Where Saenggangbanha-tang uses fresh ginger juice for the acute distress, this uses dried ginger for the cold behind it: the same pair, warmer and slower. 吐涎沫, frothy drool brought up, is the sign both formulas are aimed at, and the Junggyeong treats it as cold water in the stomach rather than as phlegm heat. **Contains pinellia, which is toxic in the raw state and must be properly processed before use.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
