Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治孕婦傷寒, 頭痛ㆍ寒熱ㆍ咳嗽. 黃芩ㆍ前胡ㆍ麥門冬各一錢, 川芎ㆍ陳皮ㆍ白芍藥ㆍ白朮各八分, 紫蘇葉六分, 乾葛五分, 甘草三分. 右剉, 作一貼, 入薑ㆍ葱, 煎服. 《入門》

Translation

Treats cold damage in a pregnant woman with headache, chill and fever and cough. Scutellaria, peucedanum and ophiopogon, 1 don each; chuanxiong, tangerine peel, white peony and atractylodes, 8 fun each; perilla leaf, 6 fun; pueraria, 5 fun; licorice, 3 fun. Cut up, make one packet, add ginger and scallion and decoct. — Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Han, lower)

Clinical commentary 臨床

A pregnancy formula, and every choice in it reflects that. Perilla leaf and pueraria release the exterior gently where ephedra and cinnamon would be too forceful; atractylodes and white peony are the two drugs the tradition credits with steadying a pregnancy, and both are kept in at a working dose; scutellaria cools, and is itself a classical fetus-calming drug. Ophiopogon and peucedanum handle the cough.
