Translation

Treats wrenching strain with blood pooling and lumbar pain. Corydalis, Korean angelica, and cinnamon heart, in equal parts, powdered; take 2 don stirred into warm wine on an empty stomach. Or add achyranthes, peach kernel, and teasel root, which is also effective. — Deukhyo 得效 (Donguibogam · Yo)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The bare core — corydalis, angelica, cinnamon heart — with nothing else, and the three optional additions given at the end are a small lesson in how these formulas were used: achyranthes to lead the medicine down to the low back, peach kernel to break what has pooled, teasel root to knit the sinew. The base handles the pain; what you add depends on which part of the injury dominates. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
