Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治痢後脚弱漸細. 蒼朮ㆍ龜板ㆍ白芍藥各二兩半, 黃柏(鹽酒炒) 五錢. 右爲末, 粥丸梧子大, 以四物湯加陳皮ㆍ甘草煎, 下五七十丸. 《入門》

Translation

Treats legs weak and growing gradually thinner after dysentery. Atractylodes, turtle plastron, and white peony, 2 nyang 5 don each; salt-wine-fried phellodendron 5 don. Powder the above and bind with gruel into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds; take 50–70 pills down with a decoction of Samul-tang with tangerine peel and licorice added. — Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Jok)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Four ingredients for a specific and unhappy presentation: legs that keep getting thinner after a bout of dysentery. Turtle plastron and peony fill and anchor; atractylodes dries what the illness left behind; and the small measure of phellodendron addresses residual heat.
